A trip down (and then up) the Medway
This is a bit of a follow up from yesterday's post about the foggy morning we have been having recently on the Medway. The fog photographs were taken a bit after 9am and it wasn't possible to see from one side of the river to the other. From Rochester castle it wasn't possible to see the cathedral. From Rochester Pier (top centre above), you couldn't see Rochester Bridge (centre left above). Three hours later and that's all changed. The fog has gone, the sun is out, visibility is excellent rather than just about 100 metres. And we're on a boat!
So, with the change in the weather eight of us boarded the Carole Ann at Rochester and took a trip out to Stangate Creek up towards the mouth of the Medway. The above shots only really show the start of the journey as we passed through Rochester, Chatham and Gillingham. Needless to say, the weather was outstanding although a little chilly.
You can find out a bit more about the Carole Ann and her owners, Sail to Clarity, at their Facebook page here.
