It's been a while (again!)

August 12, 2018

I really should get a grip on this blog thing.

Anyhow, it's been some time since the last post and that was advertising the joint exhibition I was having with Bridget at The Flippin' Frog, Rochester, to show our photographs taken last year in Iceland (my, how the time has flown!).  The exhibition was a great success from an attendance point of view and from sales. So a belated many thanks to all of you who came along.

Getting back to more recent things 2018 has seen a two week trip to Brittany, and although I haven't posted any photographs from that on the website there are some photographs up on my Instagram page.

I have carried out two commissioned music promotion shoots including one for the amazing Funke and the Two Tone Baby, who I have photographed a number of times before. Dan (Mr Funke) has just released his new album 'Denizen' and it's well worth checking out (available of Spotify).

Earlier in the year I exhibited in a group show at Nucleus Arts in Chatham on the theme of the sea. This was a show running alongside an event at the Historic Dockyard in Chatham to celebrate 400 years of the Dockyard being in Chatham.

Following on from last year's Magnificent Seven exhibition at Sun Pier House, Chatham, a group of artists and photographers, including myself, have formed a collective called Colony.  The idea behind the group is to support each other by providing ideas for promoting our work, group exhibitions, working with local galleries, and so forth. Colony's first exhibition will be in October at Nucleus Arts in Chatham, and I'm starting to put together some new work for this, and example of which is above and some other possible submissions are on the new Still Life page on the website.

Also coming out of the Mag7 exhibition is a talk I'm giving on my photography to Rochester and West Kent Art Society. This too will be October and I'm currently putting some ideas together for how this should be presented. In the meantime I'm off back to Brittany in September, mainly to relax and do some cycling.
